TORCHWOOD SEASON 4 Coming on Summer 2011

In unbelievably good news of the day, TORCHWOOD is coming back in the Summer of 2011 with John Barrowman (Capt. Jack) and Eve Myles (Gwen) returning along with some new faces reflecting the more international scope of the series.

Now here’s the crazy thing, this time it’s Starz that will debut the 10-episodes new series in the US, while BBC One will debut it in the UK and BBC Worldwide will distribute the show outside the U.S. This is a co-production between Starz, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Worldwide.

Russell T Davies and BBC Worldwide Productions’ SVP Scripted Julie Gardner return as executive producers, with Davies also serving as show-runner for the new Torchwood.

“Russell, Jane and Julie came to us with a compelling vision for the evolution of the ‘Torchwood’ saga that really takes the story into whole new areas,” added Carmi Zlotnik, Managing Director of Starz Media the production and development division of Starz. “The compelling story and characters this trio created provide a strong template for driving this narrative in exciting ways.”

Well, I’m beyond excited, after the amazing Torchwood: Children of Earth episodes, it has taken way too long for us to get more Torchwood.

Paul D. Ceglia "Claims 84% ownership of FACEBOOK"

        A New York man has filed suit against Facebook claiming he owns 84 percent of the world's largest social network. Paul D. Ceglia, the man behind the lawsuit filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, claims Facebook owes him damages relating to a 2003 contract between Ceglia and Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The purported contract asked Ceglia to develop and design a Website "similar to a live functioning yearbook with the working title of 'The Face Book,'" according to the Wall Street Journal.

The contract reportedly states that Zuckerberg would pay Ceglia $1000 plus 50 percent ownership in the company. Ceglia would also get an extra percentage point every month after January 1, 2004 until the work was completed.

         One problem with Ceglia's claim that his contract dates back to 2003 is that Zuckerberg hadn't even registered Facebook's original domain, thefacebook.com, until January 11, 2004, according to journalist David Kirkpatrick's well-researched book, The Facebook Effect. However, Kirkpatrick's book does say that Zuckerberg started developing Facebook at some point between late 2003 and early 2004.

Although it's unclear how convincing Ceglia's purported evidence is, he has managed to have the judge hearing the case issue a temporary restraining order against the transfer of Facebook's assets.

          Ceglia is no stranger to the New York court system or restraining orders himself, according to the Journal. In late, 2009 New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo issued a temporary restraining order against Ceglia's company, Allegany Pellets, LLC. Cuomo said the company had taken more than $200,000 in advance payments from customers, and promised to deliver 1,900 tons of wood pellets in the following months. The company, according to the Attorney General, failed to deliver any products or issue refunds to disgruntled customers. Wood pellets are a heating fuel typically made from compacted sawdust that can be used to heat homes. Allegany Pellets is no longer accepting orders on its Website.

Unsurprisingly, Facebook has called Ceglia's suit "frivolous," and plans to fight it out in court.

Upcoming matches: New Zealand vs. Slovakia - 15 Jun 7:30pm (Philippines Time) Côte d’Ivoire vs. Portugal - 15 Jun 10:00pm (Philippines Time) Brazil                     vs.         North Korea - 16 Jun 2:30am (Philippines Time) NEW ZEALAND vs SLOVAKIA Getting three points out of this game is imperative for Slovakia if it wants to keep hopes alive to escape the group stage. New Zealand will be more than content to earn its first World Cup point ever with a draw. That being said, expect the Slovaks to push the tempo and they have the talent to do exactly that and dictate the flow of this game. New Zealand will be forced to try and keep up with the more skillful and attacking Slovakia team. This game could develop into a 3-0 or 3-1 game if New Zealand lets Slovakia get out and run early on. In Confederations Cup games and friendly games, within the past two years, New Zealand allowed top teams to score in droves. Against the last five World Cup qualifying teams (Italy, Spain, South Africa, Mexico and Australia) New Zealand has conceded 15 total goals, an average of three per game. The ‘over’ is the play here because of the sense of urgency Slovakia will enter the game with. Anything less than three points is not an option for Slovakia and with that mindset and the Kiwis playing with nothing to lose, this should be one of the more wide-open and entertaining World Cup games. Côte d’Ivoire vs. Portugal  Didier Drogba still remains a doubt for the Ivory Coast with the match likely to determine which of these teams will make into the next round (along with group favorite Brazil). Portugal is without Nani for the tournament but will have Cristiano Ronaldo fit for the match. Both teams would likely advance in most other groups but unfortunately were stuck with Brazil in what many have called the group of death. Portugal are favored but a lot of it will depend on if Drogba plays in the match. He has been training but has to get permission from FIFA to play with a cast. If Drogba plays, then Ivory Coast have a fair shot to get a result but if not it improves Portugal’s chances. Any result would not be too surprising as Portugal haven’t been that impressive in qualifying and Ivory Coast are a talented and dangerous side. A draw seems like the most probable result.                                                                                                                                                           BRAZIL VS. NORTH KOREA North Korea believed to be the weakest team in group G. They have to fight BRAZIL, PORTUGAL and Côte d’Ivoire. North Korea strength is very difficult to see and very private. And almost no information about their team. The majority of their players who went to world cup in 2010 playing in domestic football competition. Only Three players who played in another country. Brazil mus remain wary of North Korea. North Korea Team defeated the Italy at World Cup 1966. But regardless of that Brazil has s strong chance to win against North Korea, because of their very impressive performance during several friendly matches and most of all Brazil has a good and quality players.

NETHERLANDS VS. DENMARK

JAPAN VS. CAMEROON

Japan managed to win just one of their four warm-up matches, scoring a solitary goal. Japan can take comfort from the fact that they have never lost to Cameroon, nor have they even let in a goal. This game will be the first time that the countries have faced each other outside of Asia. Marcus Tulio Tanaka will be in charge of stopped Cameroon’s top player, Sammuel Eto’o. The Sao Paulo-born Japanese international defender will have a five-centimetre height advantage over Eto'o and should be primed for the physical challenge. But, he has a black mark on himself for scoring on his own goal. He was responsible for two of three own goals and Japan could do without him. The Japanese have never won a FIFA World Cup match beyond teir own borders.

ITALY VS. PARAGUAY

Defending FIFA World Cup Champions Italy are scheduled to hit the prime time on Monday. This year Italian squad coach Marcello Lippi could easily walk away form these matches a legend or a fool. Coach Lippi is not playing some of Italy’s best footballers. Antonio Cassano and Fabrizio Miccoli are riding the pine for issues off of the field of play.

Antonio Cassano seems to be the Terrell Owens of Italian soccer. Cassano can play the game but seems to be a distraction to the team. His short temper and inability to cooperate with management seems to have cost him a trip to South Africa.

Most analyst are picking Italy to take Group F. Most are making this predictions with a warning. In the qualifying rounds Paraguay looked great. One of the shining stars of the qualifying rounds was Paraguay star striker Salvador Cabanas. Unfortunately for Paraguay, Salvador Cabanas was shot in the head inside the “Bar Bar” night club in Mexico City. Cabanas survived the attack but obviously will not be making the trip to South Africa.

Even with out Cabanas a lot of people in the know are picking Paraguay as a dark horse to go deep into the finals. Even the odd makers are only giving the reining champions a half a goal over Paraguay. I have seen a lot of bloggers predicting a draw at 1-1.

Abby Sunderland LOST at Southern Indian Ocean

The 16 year old sailor who is trying to become the youngest sailor ever to circumnavigate the globe is feared to be lost in Indian Ocean some 2,000 miles east of Madagascar. The girl, Abby Sunderland of Thousand Oaks, Calif., departed alone Jan. 23 in her sailboat Wild Eyes. On Thursday, she lost satellite phone contact with her family and set off emergency beacons, triggering a rescue effort by United States, Australian and French authorities. Ms. Sunderland was trying to break the record for the youngest sailor to circumnavigate the globe, a title held briefly by her older brother Zac, who completed his sail last year at 17. Two boats are now heading out to her position, the problem now is that the nearest of the two is around 40 hours from where Sunderland is. Zac said that right now they are just trying to figure out if there’s any way faster to get to Abby.

“She was having trouble with the engine and had taken on some water but she felt upbeat,” Mr. Pinkston said. An hour later the family was alerted that two G.P.S. emergency beacons had been activated, one on the boat and one on Ms. Sunderland’s survival suit.
“The family is fully, 100 percent focused on the rescue effort right now,” Mr. Pinkston said. “They’re seriously concerned but hopeful.” He added that Ms. Sunderland was well equipped and well trained for the sailing mission.
The two nearest ships — a fishing boat about 40 hours away and a French naval vessel more than three days away — were headed toward the location of Ms. Sunderland’s emergency beacons. Australia’s Rescue Coordination Centre planned to send a plane to look for Ms. Sunderland at daybreak, Mr. Pinkston said

THE ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS

The Atlanta Child Murders happened in between 1979 and 1981, wherein 30 African-Americans aged 9-28 were either killed or declared missing, which turned into the Atlanta Child Murders case. In early 80s, the bodies of the victims were found in vacant buildings, wooded lots and the Chattahooche River.  

     Wayne Bertram Williams (born May 27, 1958) was identified as the key suspect in the Atlanta Child Murders that occurred in 1979 through 1981. In January 1982, Williams was found guilty of the murder of two adult men. After his conviction, the Atlanta police declared that an additional 23 of the 29 child murders were solved, with Williams shown to be the murderer.

He first became a suspect in the child murder case in May 1981. His car was spotted directly above the sound of a loud splash heard in the river by a stake out team. He was stopped by police and questioned, and claimed that he was going out of town to audition a young singer. This alibi fell apart after police found that the address and phone number he gave them didn't exist.

Two days later, the nude body of 27 year-old Nathaniel Cater, who had been missing for days, turned up in the river. The medical examiner on the case ruled he had died of "probable" asphyxia, but never authoritatively said he had been strangled. Police theorized that Williams had killed Cater and had thrown him off the bridge the night they had pulled him over. Their suspicions about Williams increased after he failed a polygraph test, and hairs and fibers on one of the victims' bodies were found consistent with those from Williams's home, car, and dog. Throughout the course of the investigation, police staked out Williams's home for several weeks while he taunted them with insults and jokes. During this time, people working in Williams's studio also told police they had seen him with scratches on his face and arms around the time of the murders, which the police thought could have been inflicted by victims during a struggle.

Williams held a press conference outside his parents' home, proclaiming his innocence. He was nevertheless arrested on June 21, 1981, for the murders of Cater and 29-year-old Jimmy Payne
